AVA Airways representatives meet with Member of Parliament
WILLEMSTAD – Last week was another milestone for the soon to be local aviation company AVA Airways. The representatives of the company had the opportunity to meet with the leader of the coalition party PNP and also Member of Parliament, Humphrey Davelaar. Davelaar is the leader of the party that has appointed Earl Balborda as Minister of Transport, Traffic and Urban Planning. Balborda’s Ministry is responsible for the aviation sector of the island.
AVA Airways, represented by its President Giovanni Atalita and co-founder Olivier Arrindell, gave an extensive explanation about the progress of the aviation company. They also spoke about the added value the airline will have for the economy of the island.
In 2014, Arrindel presented his plans to the Minister of Economic Development, Stanley Palm. “One of our main objectives is to learn from the past and to propose a bold new direction for commercial aviation in Curacao. Curacao’s economic situation needs this at the moment,” Arrindell stated.
“AVA Airways will be a pioneer in the Caribbean. From the way we sell our tickets to the services we offer on our aircrafts, to even which type of aircraft we will use, will be completely innovative, especially for an island like Curacao,” said the airline co-founder.
