Dutch assistance for Curacao Civil Aviation

WILLEMSTAD – The Netherlands will send technical support to assist in the upgrading of the Curacao Aviation. These experts will arrive in Curacao on November 29. Minister Dominique Adriaens of Traffic, Transport and Urban Planning confirmed this information to the dutch morning newspaper Antilliaans Dagblad.

Earlier this year, Curacao’s civil aviation was downgraded by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to the second category. According to the Minister, in December of this year the plans should be ready which stipulates how the Civil Aviation will achieve its objective to become category 1 again.

Pueblo Soberano leader Helmin Wiels declared that it is a necessary to upgrade the Civil Aviation to category one as soon as possible; “there is a threat that Curacao aviation will be placed on the European Commission’s blacklist, and then we are doomed,” according to Wiels.
