Easy Fly: ‘Interbolsa did not affect our operations and will soon open new international routes like Curacao and Aruba’

AvilaBOGOTA, WILLEMSTAD – When discussing the issue of Interbolsa , President of Easy Fly, Alfonso Avila, is blunt to highlight the personal problems of some minority shareholders do not affect the operation of the airline. The manager announced that the company will continue its growth and now they will focus on its first international routes for before the end of the year. They will start operating from Barranquilla, Colombia to Aruba and Curacao.

Interbolsa is the Colombian based securities broker and proprietary trader which also engaged in asset management and other types of investment banking, that operated until November 2012 when the Colombian Government ordered its closure by a default of debts with the local banking system.

“We have applied for permits to operate Medellin - Pereira, Bucaramanga, Pereira, which are areas that are not connected. Bucaramanga, Cali, for example. The first is going to open this semester. We are keen to fly between Barranquilla and the Caribbean. We passed the Barranquilla-Aruba route, which would be our first international flights. The Caribbean islands are seeking medical services in Colombia. Later this year we will go to Aruba and Curacao, with direct flights,” Avila indicated.

On the question if Easy Fly will acquire new aircrafts, Avila said that the company is preparing two aircraft for this project at this time. They are making an investment of 9,000 million Colombian pesos, which will be used for turbines and to enable those two aircraft. At the moment they will not get any new aircrafts.
