EZ Air receives second ‘big’ aircraft

PJ-EZY-EZAirWILLEMSTAD - Airline EZ Air received its second 'big' plane, the PJ-EZY. ‘Big’ meaning bigger than the other airplanes the airline is known for. The Beechcraft 1900D is the little brother of the plane with registration PJ-EZA that was already flown in from Florida on November 8.

Both aircraft, which received a full technical 'check-up' in the United States, are now ready for use. The wait is now on the final green light of the Curaçao Civil Aviation Authority (CCAA), which will issue the Air Operator Certificate (AOC) to EZ-Air.

EZ Air hopes to start around mid-December with the commercial flights between the ABC islands in the first instance. In the long term, a direct flight between Bonaire and St. Eustatius will also be on the program, as well as flights to the coast of nearby Colombia.

EZ Air director René Winkel, himself on board the flight that brought the aircraft to Curaçao, is happy with the arrival of the second aircraft. "It is a long and often very hectic process on the way to the start of our commercial flights, but the end is now really in sight," says Winkel.
