Heerenveen: ‘Insel Air continues to operate’

Insel AirWILLEMSTAD - Insel Air Director Edward Heerenveen indicated that is seems unlikely that Curaçao Airport Partners (CAP) will stop its service to Insel Air on Wednesday, due to overdue payments. He was responding to the fact that the airport operator has recently sent a letter to the aviation company in where they threatened them with this action.

Heerenveen: “If CAP stops any services they provide to us on Wednesday, this would mean that we cannot operate. But CAP needs to explain to our passengers why this is the case, after all, we pay cash every week at their request and we have paid until next Friday.”

CAP’s spokesperson, Peggy Croes confirms that the letter was indeed sent, but doesn’t want to make any substantive statements. According to Croes, CAP was taking the issue under consideration this morning.

Heerenveen: “I have yet to see that they are going to force the largest airline in Curacao to stop operating. We bring in a good monthly income for them. I do not see why they would do this.”

He says that Insel Air is currently handling many anxious phone calls from passengers in response to reports in various media, wondering whether their flight still continues.

“I urge our passengers to still make sure they are on the time because operations will continue.”
