In August, InselAir could have an MD jet available

InselAirWILLEMSTAD - It may be possible that the local airline InselAir could have one of its MD jets in operations again next month. This will allow the company to expand their services to more destinations.

The aircraft was previously registered in Aruba. The Curaçao Civil Aviation Authority demanded the aircraft to be subjected to a C-check before re-entering service. This, of course, is very expensive, over one million guilders.

But because the aircraft had already gone through a check, two less rigorous inspections can now be completed without compromising safety requirements. This after consulting with aircraft builder Boeing.

A Fokker 70 aircraft, which was also registered in Aruba, has recently had one of those expensive checks and could, therefore, be available in the short term.
