InselAir Press Release – damage to aircraft
WILLEMSTAD - Saturday morning, November 28, lightning struck one of the bridges at Curacao Airport to which one of InselAir's aircraft (MD) was connected and caused severe damage to the body of the aircraft. At the time of the event no passengers and no crew were on board. The aircraft has been taken to the hangar and engineering and maintenance teams of InselAir are inspecting the aircraft. The Miami-bound passengers that were waiting in the departure hall to board the aircraft have been informed about the incident and InselAir is currently looking into arranging another aircraft to take the passengers to Miami as soon as possible. This unfortunate event has not caused any other changes to today's flight schedule. As soon as the aircraft has completed the inspection and repairs it will return into operations.
