The eye of Irma passed Sint Maarten on September 6 th. Two days thereafter, as soon as most sand was removed from the runway, InselAir was the first commercial airline to transport relief supplies and military personnel to the island and repatriated many people from the island.

During the days thereafter Insel Air continued to operate many rescue flights. In addition to their own aircraft, InselAir hired airplanes from other airlines as well to bring emergency workers and relief goods to the island and to transport as many people in need to Curacao as possible.
