New plane SLM festively dedicated at Zanderij

SLMPARAMARIBO - Last weekend the Suriname Airline Company (SLM) officially inaugurated its new plane. The Boeing 737-700 has been given the name 'District of Saramacca' and will be used regionally on the routes to Miami, Curaçao and Trinidad and Tobago.

The SLM has been in bad weather for a long time and has to turn the tide. Many passengers have lost faith in the company through the flow of negative media reports about flight delays and cancellations.

With the arrival of the new Boeing, the SLM hopes to launch a 'new era'. The Surinamese airline says in a press release that it is now about to throw the helm and to focus more on the aspect of service and communication. A number of changes will be implemented within the organization in the coming months, so that this promise is fulfilled," according to the SLM in the press release.

The SLM currently has three aircraft. An Airbus A340, a Boeing 737-300 and the new Boeing 737-700.
