Ramiz: DAE flies solo – Heerenveen: Insel Air is not worried about new airline rumors

DAE and InselWILLEMSTAD – Rumors have been circulating for some time now that a new airline in the making is approaching other local airliners Insel Air and DAE for cooperation. “Tell them I fly solo.”

This is according to Nelson Ramiz, director of the aviation company DAE, through his PR, Aldrich Hermelijn.

There have been rumors that a new aviation company is in the making in Curacao. Well known names in the Curacao business sector are behind the creation of this new company and apparently they have approached Insel Air and DAE for cooperation. This rumor is immediately destroyed by Ramiz. According to him, there are no conversations between him and a new aviation company. “And even if this is true, we don’t work together. I fly solo.”

Earlier, Hermelijn stated that he’s not aware of any new aviation company. “Not to keep anything a secret, but honestly this is the first time that I hear about this news. I’m not aware of it.”

Edward Heerenveen, director of Insel Air, did receive some unofficial information about the new aviation company says that he’s not worried about it. “Whatever happens, we will continue doing our work as we have been doing it. I’m not worried at all about it.”

Even though the director is aware of these plans, he has not seen any concrete plans. “Fact is to start an airline is difficult and to maintain it is even more difficult,” according to Heerenveen.

On Curacao there are 4 airlines: Insel Air, DAE, EZ Air and Divi Divi.
