Venezuela pledges to pay InselAir

Insel AirWILLEMSTAD – The local airline, InselAir will soon get its money. The Venezuelan foreign exchange regulator, CADIVI, pledged to pay the airline the outstanding debt as soon as possible. Insel Air claims to have 80 million dollars stuck in Venezuela. This situation has brought the aviation company in serious financial problems. The agreement is that half of this amount will be paid with fuel.

If Venezuela is really going to pay this outstanding debt in whatever form both parties agrees on, remains to be seen. The South American country has previously made promises to, not only InselAir, but also to other airlines, which they owe much more than what they have to pay to the Curacao airline. These promises have not been fulfilled yet.
