Jacob Gelt DekkerThe assumption is, that manmade-CO2 in the atmosphere causes excessive global warming, which is undesirable. Global warming or climate change would stop instantly, from the very moment our society no longer produces substantial amounts of carbon emissions, therefore decarbonization has priority over everything in the world, even with the G7.

Of the atmosphere, only 0,039% is CO2, and of that miniscule fraction, 97% is produced by nature and 3% by mankind. Earlier international conventions in Japan and Denmark adopted grand resolutions pledging reduction of carbon-emission industries and other human contributions from 3%, to 2%, by 2030, or from 0,0009%, down to 0,0006% of manmade CO2 in the atmosphere.

Unfortunately, the differential amount of 0,0003% of CO2 in the atmosphere is so small that no equipment exists outside sophisticated laboratories to make such accurate miniscule measurements. CO2 levels are measured by hundreds of stations in at least 66 countries. CO2 measurements are suspect though. The Keeling curve, defined by Scripps of La Jolla, California, is widely used. The increase in CO2 emissions is based on data from the top of Mount Mauna Loa in Hawaii. (The Scripps CO2 measurements at Mauna Loa have been supported for many years by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), and have more recently been supplemented by Earth Networks, a technology company that is collaborating with Scripps to expand the global GHG monitoring network.)

Mauna Loa is an active volcano and many question whether such a volcano is the best place to be taking CO2 measurement. Any way, the solemn pledge made by many nations to reduce manmade CO2 levels by 2030 with 30%, cannot be verified easily.

So, politicians have enormous discretion on how to apply and interpret their national test results. Unfortunately and inevitably, there is also ample space for all kinds of fraud, political spin and demagoguery.

With religious zeal, political green-parties use the CO2-weapon to battle big business and industry and other political objectives. The spin-doctors behind the action groups seem to be well aware of their shortcomings, as they pontificate, "The primary problem facing today’s activists is how to turn anger and frustration in the street into a more lasting expression of popular power.”

Before alienating all my green-loving friends from this discussion, let me state clearly, I love earth and strongly believe humans should do everything possible to preserve nature and health. Nothing else has my stronger support than cleaning up, but I do not support misleading political ideology cloaked in disguise, not even decarbonization disguise.

Unfortunately, history demonstrated that political idealism married with opportunistic science was often very detrimental and dangerous to societies. Think of a brief moment of the very sad outcomes of ideologies of eugenics, apartheid, racism, communism, fascism etc. These ideologies all had in common that their claims were strongly supported by so-called, solid scientific research.

The lies and manipulations of Leviathan, the monster of Big State, has swallowed up and mauled to death far more people, hundreds of millions, than any carbon producing industry or climate change so far. Be aware!!!
