To my beloved brother Hugh

Dear Editor:

My name is Nisha Tagor and my family has been long standing in Curacao.  Actually I was conceived in Curacao but was born in another country six weeks after my mother left my father in Curacao.  Despite my birth, I believe my life began in Curacao where I returned and lived during my teenage years.

My purpose for writing to you is to ask that you be so kind as to publish a tribute to my beloved brother Hugh Huggins who died a few days ago in Curacao where he resided for over 60 years.  His funeral takes place today, Wednesday, December 10, 2014.  The tribute is as follows:

To:  My Beloved Brother Hugh

I know your spirit understands why I am not there in physical form, but that my love will always be with you until eternity.  You know too, that ours is a bond from birth that no human being can break and I will always treasure those memories.

Thank you for being the best brother and person whom I believe ever walked the face of this earth. Thank you too, for all you have done for me and for your love and protection in our early childhood years.

Although only four years older than I, and orphans in a sense, you and our older sister Edna filled the role of both mother and father to me, ever since I was just nine months old.

You were my big brother, mother, father, confidant, protector and the rock on which I built my life with your examples of honesty and integrity.  You gave me hope and life again when the world seemed so dark and hopeless.  Without you, I would never have been what I am today, and for this, my eternal gratitude.

May your journey to Heaven be a joyous one for I am sure that is your final resting place and destination.

May God Bless and keep you safe.

Forever your “Baby Sister”, as you so named me in our childhood years.
