2360 applications for establishment permits
WILLEMSTAD - Until September this year, the Ministry of Economic Development received or processed a total of 2360 applications for establishment permits consisting of new applications and request for changes of existing permits. This is according to figures published by the Ministry this week.
Of the 2360 applications which are now under the Ministry, a total of 2,183 have been processed. This is about 92.5 percent of the total number of applications.
The applications range from establishment permits for companies, licenses for the management of the companies, permits for onshore and offshore companies and permits for companies that will operate in the E-zones.
The 177 applications still in process are the so-called onshore companies and that is because of the inspections that need to take place in the framework of the moratorium on mini markets and supermarkets.
888 of the requests are related to offshore companies and 87 are concerning applications of companies that are in the E-zone.
The process to automate the licensing process is also going forward. “We are launching a pilot project and it is intended that the first phase of the digitization process will be completed in the last quarter of this year,” said a representative of the Ministry.
