CBCS: legal interest remains 3 percent

Central BankWILLEMSTAD – According to an analysis from the local Dutch newspaper Antilliaans Dagblad, the Central Bank of Curaçao and Sint Maarten (CBCS) holds the legal interest in the second half of 2013 to 3 percent. This relatively low interest rates has been running since July 1, 2009 and is based on lending rate. The lending rate is the rate at which commercial banks can get collateralized loans at CBCS. The statutory rate is also used by the court in resolving legal disputes.
