CBS with business survey in Curacao

WillemstadWILLEMSTAD - The Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) is starting this month with a business survey (for the year 2013) in Curacao.

The aim of this survey is to provide updated information on a frequent basis on business and economic developments.

The study will be conducted among all companies with ten or more employees, while a sample will be taken from the firms with fewer than ten employees.

In total, around 800 companies will be approached by the CBS. The majority of these companies will be visited by interviewers who will distribute the questionnaire and assist the company in completing them, if desired. The rest of the companies will receive the questionnaire by e-mail. In the past, they have indicated to prefer this method.

The questions are about estimates of revenues for the first half of 2014. Additionally, there are also questions relating to the judgment of the operator on a number of indicators such as obstacles to investment, competitiveness, business confidence and investment climate.

With such information, both government and entrepreneurs can take better, faster and more informed decisions.

The research will be conducted completely confidential in accordance with the Statistics Act.

The input of business is of great importance for the success of this study survey. CBS therefore appeals to all companies who will be approached to cooperate in this research and thank them in advance for the trouble.
