Colombia removes Curaçao from blacklist

Central BankBOGOTA, WILLEMSTAD – Colombia has officially removed Curacao from the blacklist. Curacao is not considered a malafide tax haven anymore. This is according to a report from the News Agency in Curacao.

Colombia placed Curacao on the blacklist because they thought that money could be diverted to the island with the help of the Central Bank in Willemstad. This action came especially after the Interbolsa affair which was widely covered by this news source. After an investigation was carried out, it was proven that this is not the case.

There are now better agreements between the authorities of the two countries for exchange of tax information.
