Curaçao gets new mega supermarket

Sambil_CarrefourWILLEMSTAD - The French supermarket chain Carrefour is coming to Curaçao. The modern supermarket will settle in Sambil. The opening is in early 2019.

This shopping mall had announced before the opening end of May 2015 that at first two-thirds of the complex at Veeris would be occupied. The structural work for the rear part was finished, but would only be completed at the moment that a reputable customer shows interest. And that's Carrefour

We are now working with all our might to complete the westernmost part of the complex before the end of this year so that Carrefour can be opened. 80 to 100 people are going to work there. In all, Carrefour wants to open five stores in Curaçao in the coming years. Two supermarkets and dire Express branches.

The French supermarket chain Carrefour was founded in 1959 and has more than 12,000 stores and e-commerce sites in 10 countries and in 20 other countries with partners. Everything spread across Europe, Asia and Latin America.

In the Caribbean there are Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guiana, the Dominican Republic, (French) St. Maarten - and now also Curaçao. There are plans for Bonaire and Aruba.

Carrefour counts with more than 400,000 employees serving 90 million customers worldwide every day. The Carrefour brand includes small stores such as Carrefour Express and Proxi, supermarkets such as Carrefour Market, Carrefour City, Carrefour Bio and Carrefour Contact and hypermarkets such as Promocash, Atacadao and Supeco. Carrefour is the largest supermarket chain in the world after Wal-Mart.
