Dutch assistance with air connections
WILLEMSTAD - Dutch senior officials and the Minister of the Interior and Kingdom Relations, Ronald Plasterk, were convinced by the Ministers Eugene Rhuggenaath of Economic Development and Suzanne Camelia-Römer of Traffic, Transport and Spatial Planning that the countries should work together to ensure the air link between the Dutch Caribbean islands.
This is according to a report submitted by Minister Rhuggenaath to the Parliament of Curaçao. “In our meeting, we discussed the responsibility of the countries with regard to aviation, but given the crucial social and economic significance of these inter-island connections, a cooperation between the countries of the Kingdom deemed necessary. This is why both parties presented a joint declaration which was also signed by Aruba and Sint Maarten,” said Rhuggenaath.
