Economic boycott against Venezuela
WILLEMSTAD – The Netherlands and Curaçao should institute an economic boycott against Venezuela. This is according to Henry van der Kwast, Chairman of the Board of the local airline Insel Air.
The reason for this request it the outstanding debt of 180 million guilders from the South American neighbour to the airline. According to the Chairman, there is an aviation agreement which states that debts should be paid within thirty days.
Van der Kwast urges the Dutch government and its diplomats to take action. He also said that there should be a blockade against Venezuela to enforce payment. Van der Kwast wants Curaçao to close its borders to Venezuelan exports and force the country to meet its debt.
