Implementation plan E-Commerce presented to Minister Rhuggenaath
WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao Innovation & Technology Institute (Citi) presented the implementation plan for e-commerce in Curaçao to the Minister of Economic Development Eugene Rhuggenaath.
Citi has been commissioned by the Ministry of Economic Development in 2015 to investigate the possibilities to get e-commerce in Curaçao off the ground.
In May the Ministry of Economic Development and Citi launched the website www.ecommerce.cw for entrepreneurs who are interested in doing business online. On the website, interested entrepreneurs receive information about the steps they must take to be able to offer their products and services online. This was the first phase of the project.
The second phase is the execution of the implementation plan for e-commerce in Curaçao. Various working groups, composed of professionals in various fields, were appointed for this project. Citi can count on more than twenty professionals who are willing to help in the realization of this project. The vision for e-commerce in Curaçao assumes that the island will be completely equipped in 2018 with all the prerequisites for e-commerce to become a reality.
