Issue circulating coins & BU-set on the occasion of 100 years of Maduro & Curiel’s Bank NV
WILLEMSTAD - On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Maduro & Curiel's Bank NV (MCB), the Central Bank of Curaçao and Sint Maarten (CBCS) has issued a full color five guilder circulating coin.
The coins bear the MCB anniversary logo with the slogan: Between past and future, MCB is present. The jubilee bank itself will bring the special five-guilder coins in circulation. These coins are legal tender.
In addition, the CBCS has dedicated the theme of the BU-set 2016 to the 100th anniversary of the MCB. The packaging of the BU-set is the story of the birth of the Maduro & Curiel's Bank NV and photographs of the founders of the bank, namely Jose Alvarez Correa and Morris Curiel and an image of the oldest and the newest bank building.
CBCS acting President Mr. Jerrald Hassel Meyer presented the first copy of the circulation coin and a BU mint set to MCA President Lionel (Chicu) Capriles II.
BU coin sets are on sale at the cash register of the CBCS and cost NAf. 64.50 each. At the purchase of 10 sets or more, the price per piece is ANG. 60.00. For more information about these sets, consult the CBCS’ website: http://www.centralbank.cw/coin-sets.
