Labor Force Survey 2015 CBS launched in Curaçao
WILLEMSTAD – Starting this week Friday, September 4, interviewers of the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) will hit the road to visit homes to ask the people questions about their position in the labor market. This is in the framework of the Labor Force Survey (AKO).
The AKO is a sample survey, which is organized by the CBS each year under approximately 2600 households in Curaçao and is the most important research to describe the labor market developments.
One of the main points of the AKO is the unemployment rate. This percentage indicates what proportion of the population is currently not working. It is also important to know how many people work and how many people are looking for work.
The main results are expected to become available by mid-December this year.
To map this and other important labor market data, the CBS requests the cooperation of all households that will be surveyed.
CBS is required by law to treat all information collected as strictly confidential.
CBS thanks in advance all households that have fallen in the sample for their cooperation.
CBS regularly publishes the official labor market data from Curaçao. Documents describing the results of the Labor Force Survey can be downloaded for free from the CBS website: www.cbs.cw
