No price differences allowed for free-range eggs

free range eggsWILLEMSTAD - Supermarkets cannot sell their free-range eggs for a higher price. This is according to the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Economic Development. The law knows no difference between free-range eggs and eggs from the battery cage.

And because eggs are part of the basic food package, both species are tied to a maximum price. 41 cents for one egg; 2.44 guilders for 6 and 4.88 guilders for 12.
