Outcome Economic Impact Study Oostpunt for Curaçao (report)

East sideWILLEMSTAD – The Economic Impact Study (EIS) for the new proposed zoning plan of Oostpunt (east side of the island) has been released.

The Oostpunt is comprised of 5 plantations owned by the Maal family since the 1870’s. They were used primarily for agriculture, cattle, quarrying and mining and sand dredging.

According to the owner of the land, Willy Maal, who represents the sixth generation of the Maal family as the owners of the Oostpunt area, they have been in battle for more than 20 years to develop this area.
