Positive rating Standard & Poor’s

standard-poorsWILLEMSTAD - The international credit rating agency Standard & Poor's assesses Curacao positive again. Curacao gets the status A/A2. The A rating is due to the stable system of parliamentary democracy and the legal system of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

Also, the fiscal balance of the government, and the high level of development and the relatively prosperous economy contributed to this assessment. Standard & Poor's warns that if the reforms appear to be insufficient to get or to keep the public finances in order and if the government debt still increases, there could be a possible downgrade.

In the previous evaluation time, in May 2013, the so-called 'outlook' of Curacao improved from negative to stable. The rating of the credit rating agency often gets international publicity.
