Qredits now also provides microcredits in Curaçao

QreditsWILLEMSTAD - Qredits’ fourth branch in the Caribbean is a fact! Today the first establishment is officially opened by the Prime Minister of Curaçao, Eugene Rhuggenaath. At the office in Willemstad, entrepreneurs can go for microcredit (up to NAf 50,000), coaching and guidance. On Bonaire, Aruba and Sint Maarten active use is already being made of the possibilities that Qredits offers the islanders.

Credit provider without profit

Since 2009, Qredits has provided loans to start-ups and entrepreneurs in the Netherlands. The most important thing is that the non-profit organization wants to stimulate entrepreneurship. When assessing credit applications, the future of the entrepreneur is also looked into. The passion and the business plan are more important than everything around it. In the Caribbean part of the Kingdom, Qredits has been active in Bonaire since 2015. This was followed by the branches in Aruba, St. Maarten, St. Eustatius and Saba last year.

Curaçao is the icing on the cake

Director and proud founder of Qredits, Elwin Groenevelt, wants to give everyone the chance to make his or her entrepreneurial dream come true. On October 20, 2017 an agreement was signed with Minister Steven Martina that makes it possible for Qredits to start in Curaçao. 'The establishment in Curaçao makes it possible for everyone in the Dutch Kingdom to apply for a loan with us. With the vision we have for making as many entrepreneurial dreams as possible, this location in Curaçao really is the icing on the cake. This way we can help even more people who have or want to start their own business. And that's what we do it for. "

First applications already in

Despite the fact that the office was not yet officially opened, the Curaçaoans were already able to reach Qredits. The first applications were received via the Facebook page of Qredits Curacao and the website. Local business advisers Raiska Herrera and Thom Van Der Weide are working hard to assess these initial applications. From today it is possible to walk in at the office of Qredits on Caracasbaaiweg 186B in Willemstad to receive information without any obligation. The website of Qredits Curaçao is available in Dutch and Papiamento and can be reached via www.qredits.com. A credit application can be submitted via the website and the necessary documents can be uploaded.

80 credits

The objective is to provide around 80 credits in 2018 on average of NAf 30,000. In addition, Qredits hopes to support more than 200 aspiring entrepreneurs in setting up their own company and to enter into dialogue with the education sector to offer their entrepreneurship education program 'I am my own Boss'. The e-learning Business Plan Writing is available in Dutch and Papiamentu and will be offered actively to prospective entrepreneurs via vouchers available from Qredits.
