State-owned company CUROIL makes 40 million in profit
WILLEMSTAD – The State-owned oil and gas company, CUROIL made a profit of 40 million guilders (22.6 million dollars) in the year 2014. That is nearly 15 million guilders more compared to the previous year.
The financial statements were recently presented to Minister of Finance, Dr. José Jardim. The oil and gas contributed last year to 81.8 million guilders in taxes and excise duties to the state budget. It was good for 10.4 million guilders in dividends on 2012 earnings.
According to the company, the earnings are mainly due to the positive international developments. CUROIL conducted last year many efforts to gain new customers in the international market. Sales to existing customers was also increased and new markets were tapped. Because environmental regulations, the sales of low sulfur diesel increased and bunkering activities showed significant growth.
In the eyes of the management CUROIL shows with earnings of 40 million guilders that it is a solid company that is worthy of trust.
