The evolution of crowdfunding is live at the startup stock exchange

The social aspect of the crowd with the security, liquidity and control of a securities exchange

ExchangeWILLEMSTAD - The Startup Stock Exchange (SSX) announced today that it has successfully evolved the concept of crowdfunding by combining the social aspects of crowdfunding with the security, liquidity and control of a regulated securities exchange. SSX provides a regulated marketplace where investors of any level buy public shares of vetted startup companies, while startups raise the capital they need from these global investors. A special portal and educational video is available at www.Startup.SX/go/Crowdfunding detailing this evolution.

“Investors seeking equity in a company must have security in their investment, liquidity in the equity they receive and control over their investment. Current equity crowdfunding platforms do not provide any of these items. That is why the Startup Stock Exchange is the evolution of crowdfunding. We have moved crowdfunding beyond its social roots to provide both Investors and Companies with the investment principals they require,” said Ian Haet, CEO and Co-Founder of the Startup Stock Exchange.

Crowdfunding, as a financial instrument, misses these key principles that SSX addresses to better serve the crowd:

Security: Investments are made on a government regulated exchange and Investors can choose from a pool of carefully vetted companies that have completed a strict due diligence process and issued a detailed Offering Prospectus. As publicly listed companies, regular reports are issued to Investors ensuring continued oversight.

Liquidity: Investors hold free trading shares and can sell and buy the shares via SSX. There is no minimum investment amount for the shares. Investors can participate in both Initial Public Offerings and post IPO open market trading.

Control: Investors manage their personal investments and trading account through an online brokerage system, allowing them to decide how and when to buy and sell shares in the Startups.

"At NXTP Labs, we believe in the power of crowdfunding and crowdsourcing as a way to democratize access for startups and investors. Not only are they a great way of democratizing access to financing and investments for startups, but also a way to facilitate investors to find the best investment opportunities. We expect that SSX will become a powerful tool for the entrepreneurship ecosystem in the region," says Gonzalo Costa, co-founder and director of NXTP Labs.

Investors from over 100 countries have registered to invest in Startups from around the world via SSX. A list of the current Initial Public Offerings is available at www.Startup.SX
