Utility company Aqualectra might as well be dead

WILLEMSTAD - Water and energy company Aqualectra has serious maintenance backlog caused by the interference of the government with the rates.

This is what the director, Mr. Darick Jonis, declared to the Committee of Financial Supervision. Lack of money is the biggest concern for the utility company. In the past three years the company suffered a loss of 152 million guilders. Mr. Jonis wants the government to stop meddling with the rates.
