Curaçao North Sea Jazz Festival confirmed for 2018

North Sea JazzWILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao North Sea Jazz Festival (CNSJF) will take place again in 2018. Prime Minister Eugene Rhuggenaath made that announcement as a guest during a radio program with the presenter Percy Pinedo.

Pinedo has been involved with Fundashon Bon Intenshon, the foundation of Gregory Elias, who together with Mojo produces the grand jazz festival.

“The CNSJF can count on government support. That support was promised before the edition of 2017, but, as we know, the jazz festival did not continue this year because the musicians we were looking for could not come to the festival,” said Pinedo.

“Some artists who had already been booked had to be bought out for a certain amount when it was decided that the festival would definitely not go through this year. These artists would like to perform at the 2018 edition. They have already promised that they will deduct the payment they received for this year when the CNSJF was canceled.”

Pinedo did not want to disclose which artists will perform next year.
