Construction new hotel at Rif

courtyard-marriott-logoWILLEMSTAD - After the Renaissance Hotel and the Holiday Inn Hotel, the starting signal will be given for the construction of a third hotel at the Rif in April.

This is, according to the project developer Gilbert Ricardo and Minister of Economic Development Stanley Palm, a positive sign for the economic recovery in 2014.

“The construction of this hotel really indicates that 2014 will be the year of economic recovery for Curacao,” the Minister indicated.

Last Friday a sign was placed on the empty lot next to the Social Insurance Bank, which indicates that the construction of the hotel will take place.

The hotel, whose name was not announced, but, according to credible sources,  is the well known Marriott Courtyard and will have 171 rooms including 20 suites, a commercial area - consisting of renowned restaurants, a casino, a swimming pool and other attractions.

The hotel will not have its own beach but that’s not a problem, according to the project developer, because the guests will be transported free of charge to the beaches.

The total investment in the project will be 60 million guilders.
