Runway temporarily closed due to incident with small aircraft
WILLEMSTAD - Friday afternoon at approximately 03:45pm an emergency landing took place on the Runway at Curaçao International Airport. It regards a small non-commercial aircraft known as a BeechCraft that was carrying two passengers and one pilot. No one was injured.
The CAP Fire and Rescue Department was stand-by to assist and after the landing CAP secured and cleaned the area in order to ensure safe operation. Curaçao Civil Aviation Authority (CCAA) was notified and arrived shortly after the landing for inspection. The operations at the airport continued after 06:00pm. The incident caused various delays for arriving and departing planes.
