71 tickets at road checks

police checkpointsWILLEMSTAD – The police force in Curaçao has been conducting roadside checks on a regular basis lately. During a recent road check at the Presidente R. Bethancourt Boulevard, Kaya Gutieres i Gerardina, Santa Rosaweg and Seru Loraweg, 71 motorists received tickets from the authorities for traffic infractions or missing documents.

49 of them were fined for driving without wearing a seat belt. In twelve cases, people drove through red light and six were on the phone while driving.

The remaining fines were issued for driving without a license and / or a valid inspection or tax card. One car was seized because the driver had no car papers.
