A.B.-V. extradited to Germany
WILLEMSTAD – Justice in Curaçao extradited the man with the initials A.B.-V. (January 7, 1984, Dominican Republic) to the German judicial authorities on Tuesday June 28, 2016. The man was handed over by the Organized Crime Division (DGC) to the Nordrein-Westfalen Germany at the Hato Airport in Curaçao.
Under the surveillance of the German police, the man left for Germany with AirBerlin. The Joint Court of Justice ruled in favor of the extradition request of the Federal Republic of Germany on March 31, 2016.
The Governor of Curaçao declared the extradition admissible on June 2, 2016. The man is suspected by the German authorities of involvement in at least two cocaine smuggling on July 16, 2014. Two drug traffickers with respectively 1,139 grams and 137 grams of cocaine were detained in Dusseldorf after they had traveled to Germany from Curaçao with AirBerlin. According to the authorities A.B.-V. was the person who sent the two drug mules with drugs.
The extradition request was filed in Curaçao on February 16, 2016 by the Ministry of Justice of Nordrein Westfalen in Düsseldorf. The District Court in Dusseldorf had already issues an arrest warrant against the man on June 11, 2015.
