Appointment of Attorney General for Curaçao, Sint Maarten, Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba

SchramWILLEMSTAD - Mr. A.R.E. (Guus) Schram, the new Attorney General for Curaçao, Sint Maarten and Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba. The Kingdom Council of Ministers, at the proposal of the Minister of Security and Justice decided to nominate him to this position. The appointment takes effect on February 1, 2014.

Mr. Schram (1969) has been  deputy chief prosecutor in Rotterdam since 2012. He was in charge with combating international dealing in hard drugs, organized cannabis cultivation, money laundering, high tech crime, child pornography, war crimes and human trafficking.

Schram began his career with the public prosecutor in 2000 as a prosecutor at the Zwacri team in Rotterdam.

Schram studied law at the University of Amsterdam. He succeeds Mr. D. A. Piar who will step down on 1 February as Attorney General.
