Asphalt Recovery Lake takes Piso to court
WILLEMSTAD - Asphalt Recovery Lake goes to court. The company is angry with former subcontractor Herman Piso. Last Tuesday local authorities at the request of the Netherlands held house searches at several locations on the island including the the asphalt processing plant.
Piso think that's because the asphalt there is mixed with illegal substances, and that European companies use Curaçao as their waste pit where they can get rid of their junk.
According to former director Karel Aster this is defamation and thereby Piso is willfully damaging the name of the company. Justice in the Netherlands has been investigation for 3 years now on this type of environmental crime and recently also in Curaçao.
