Augusta new director Coastguard Centre for Curaçao
WILLEMSTAD - Vernon Augusta takes over from Paul de Kloet. On Friday, August 28th the Kloet officially stepped down as head of Coastguard Centre for Curaçao.
De Kloet had been working for the Coast Guard since October 2010. The leadership will be now in the hands of Augusta.
De Kloet looked back in his valedictory address to a period full of highlights, but also some lows.
The highlights are, according to de Kloet, several large drug seizures and relief efforts of the Coast Guard. He also spoke of lows such as the integrity of some colleagues.
He also asked attention to the difficult conditions where coast guards have to deal with during rescue or counter-drug operations. He ended his speech with a word of thanks to all the support personnel.
