‘Black coke’ growing problem

Court houseWILLEMSTAD – There is an increase in the use of the so called ‘black cocaine’ in drug trafficking. That cocaine is processed into a material similar to plastic or rubber. It can then be used as a covering for suitcases. In order for airport authorities not notice it. But drug dogs can sniff this coke indeed.

Several cases against drug traffickers took place in court recently. Among them, there was a suspect who had used black coke. The total weight was more than 2 pounds. In the laboratory, authorities found that 29 percent of the material was pure cocaine, almost 800 grams. The suspect was sentenced in absentia to a prison sentence of 12 months, six of which were suspended. The man had traveled to the Netherlands, where he lives. Recently Justice has been sentencing these drug traffickers with severe sentences compared to before.
