Boat with drugs intercepted by the Coast Guard

WILLEMSTAD - Last night around 8:30 the Rescue & Coordination Center of the Coast Guard detected a suspicious object about 22 kilometers south of Daaibooi. The vessel was on its way to Curaçao.

From the Parera Support Center, the Metal Shark sailed to intercept the boat, supported from the air by the Coast Guard's Dash aircraft. By ten o'clock it was intercepted at almost 12 kilometers south of Cape St. Marie. The Coast Guard found three people on board and a considerable amount of suspected narcotics.

The 3 people were arrested and transferred to the Parera Support Center together with the narcotics and the vessel found. Suspects and drugs have been transferred to the police force. The case is currently under investigation.
