Case ‘Bientu’ is now irrevocable
WILLEMSTAD - The Public Prosecutor (OM) Curaçao and the defendants in the case "Bientu" have mutually agreed to withdraw the appeal in the case set by both parties.
With this, the ruling of April 1, 2016, against the lottery boss Robbie dos Santos and the companies The Money Game Inc. Jamaroma Lotteries and Administration office Dollar has become final and the appeal hearing will no longer take place.
This has also withdrawn the proposed confiscation case on behalf of the Public Prosecutor (OM) Curaçao.
Dos Santos was sentenced on April 1, 2016, to two years imprisonment conditionally and three years probation for money laundering, forgery and tax evasion.
Furthermore, a sum of 72.5 million guilders was forfeited. With Dos Santos there were also three companies sentenced. In the cases of those companies all the facts were declared proven. The companies were sentenced to heavy fines.
The Prosecution will now take care of the execution of the judgment of April 1, 2016, in which the defendants were sentenced.
