Coast Guard intercepts boat with 340 kilos of cocaine

coast guardWILLEMSTAD - Last Saturday early in the morning two men were arrested who tried to bring 340 kilos of cocaine to land by boat.

The boat was detected by the Coast Guard's Dash aircraft which noticed that a boat was sailing in the direction of Fuik near Awa Blanku with two men on board. The Coordination Center was informed. The Metal Shark of the coast guard chased the boat, which then stranded at Fuik. The rocks made it difficult for the Metal Shark to get to the craft.

Some coast guards jumped into the sea to check the vessel and found 11 bags of cocaine. The men took off when the Coast Guard arrived. Using the Dash they could be located and arrested and then transferred to the police of Rio Canario.
