Fear for life suspect Wiels’ murder

landmacht-jpgWILLEMSTAD - Dutch soldiers assisted the police with the protection of the suspects in the murder of politician Helmin Wiels on December 31. “There was information available that they had to fear for their lives,” as was announced by the Dutch Department of Defense today.

The Royal Army unit put barbed wire available for securing the police station and provided weapons and ammunition for the Volunteer Corps Curaçao, the Ministry said.

Four suspects in the murder of the politician are in prison. A suspect, Luigi Florentina alias Pretu, committed suicide and another, Raul 'Bolle' Martinez, was killed. During a hearing in mid last month it became clear that the Curacao police is still searching for the clients who ordered the murder of Helmin Magno Wiels.
