Fines during traffic checkpoint

Aruba policeWILLEMSTAD – Police officers held a traffic check point yesterday morning at Malpais between 5 and 8 in the morning. In total 96 vehicles and were stopped and inspected.

More than a quarter of those drivers - namely 25 – were fined. Especially driving without a seat belt and the lack of a valid license or insurance were reasons for the fines.

Remarkably, in four cases the cars didn’t have license plates.

The police are always warning drivers to have their vehicle documents up to date. They will continue with these traffic checkpoints on various parts of the island throughout these days.
