Fundashon Akshon Sivil with legal case against Schotte, Monk and Wilsoe

WILLEMSTAD - Fundashon Akshon Sivil (FAS) filed a complaint against former Prime Minister Gerrit Schotte and former ministers Carlos Monk and Elmer Wilsoe at the Public Prosecutor. FAS has filed the complaint because of malfeasance in Refineria di Kòrsou (RdK) (Curacao Refinery) on the funds that were used to finance “free” education.

RdK was ordered by the government to transfer, outside the government’s treasury, over 17 million guilders. According to the FAS this is contrary to the ordinance compatibility and the Kingdom Act relating to the instructions given by the Netherlands on July 13. "When it was determined that the government of Curacao no longer could borrow money until the Budget is balanced."

Punishable
FAS reiterated that this is punishable under the Criminal Code, Article 2:344 sub c. "That article reads:" With a prison sentence of three years or a fine of the fourth category is the minister punishable who acts against an ordinance, a makes decision or gives an order with the knowledge that thereby provisions determined in part a) of statutory regulations are violated.
