Garcia protests against bankruptcy
WILLEMSTAD – The Court of Justice has decided in a meeting last Wednesday that the bankruptcy imposed on the former director of the Giro Bank, Eric Carcia will remain in force. It has been sufficiently proven that Garcia is unable to pay his debts. His incarceration has been lifted and Garcia has promised to give full cooperation to the bankruptcy. In the event that he does not cooperate, he may be arrested again.
After the Court had declared Garcia bankrupt last week Friday and ordered his arrest, he protested this ruling. In the meeting of September 21, he was heard for this first time. Lawyer Mrs. Maria, who is the curator in the bankruptcy of the Banco de Maracaibo, and the curator in the bankruptcy of Mr. Garcia, L.G. Da Costa Gomez were also present.
