Installation CCTV cameras by Inspur
WILLEMSTAD – The morning newspaper Extra took a picture of an employee of the Chinese company Inspur while he was installing one of the CCTV cameras in downtown Willemstad.
Inspur installed these security cameras near the parliament building, but also hotels, restaurants, and businesses.
This is part of a multi-million guilders project of the Minister of Justice Nelson Navarro. The objective is to install CCTV cameras at various high trafficked areas on the island. Recently the Minister explained that the first phase of the project is almost finished and now the company is installing the cameras.
The Minister insisted that this is a good project for the betterment of the security in Curaçao. “It is unusual that in 2016 we are not assisted by cameras in enhancing security on our island. Most major crimes which were solved in big cities were done with the assistance of these CCTV cameras. It’s something we should have done years ago,” said the Minister.
