Josefa: “Politur not enough manpower”
WILLEMSTAD - Tourist Police Politur has a shortage of officers. There are currently 22 officers working, according to the schedule, there must be 41 at the end of this year, thus almost double.
That is what the chairmen of Politur, Humphrey Josefa informed, following an assault on a tourist couple in the Oranjestraat.
Strengthening Politur by the regular police is also difficult, because the corps lacks agents.
This is why Josefa is looking for creative solutions so the tourists can still feel safe on the island, such as the use of volunteers and retirees.
