Major victory for OM in the courtroom, 31 gold bars confiscated
WILLEMSTAD - Court ruled today in the case "Fiji", an investigation which started in May 2008 on Bonaire with several suspects but which ended when two defendants were summoned by the public prosecutor, namely A.I. of W. (1967) and A.W. G. (1955).
The Court in this case has come to a conviction for both of them but more importantly the confiscation of three major properties in Bonaire, 31 gold bars worth more than 2 million guilders, more than 900,000 guilders in bank accounts, a small plane, a Boston Whaler boat and 2 cars.
This is for the Public Prosecutor (OM) a major victory again in taking away illegal goods from criminals. These funds are all beneficial to the country.
