Navarro: Action in three months

WILLEMSTAD – The new policy with Justice will be clearly noticeable after three months, said Minister of Justice, Nelson Navarro (PAIS). The minister has announced rigorous measures to combat crime. Navarro said he would explain these plans during the public discussion on the draft budget in the Parliament, which is probably on the agenda for next week.

Navarro made these statements at the first press conference from the new Hodge-cabinet and launched several proposals which he wants to put into practice. It regards closing off districts to make drug and weapon controls possible, better material for police officers and introducing camera monitoring. Navarro stated the solutions needn’t cost a lot of money and that he will discuss this with the police authorities. The minister is of the opinion that the public will notice the first results of the new policy within three months.
